For the Higher Newham Farm competition, Carpenter Oak submitted innovative concept designs for this visionary development. The project aimed to create a multi-functional, sustainable, new village community, offering a mix of self-built homes, allotments, shared spaces, and agricultural areas, with a focus on people rather than cars and allowing residents to engage with their surrounding environment.
Our proposal focused on timber construction, blending ecological sensitivity with modern rural living. By integrating natural materials and thoughtful craftsmanship, we envisioned a space that fosters community, sustainability, and timeless design.
Although conceptual, our submission reflects Carpenter Oak’s commitment to innovative ecological construction, where homes are not just places to live, but part of a sustainable future.
