About
There is a wide range of options with steelwork, influenced by the species of timber being used and the context of the timber structure - where simply internal, or in a more harsh external or marine environment.
Stainless steel is suitable in almost all uses, and is a beautiful material in its own right. We always pair stainless steel with oak, due to the high tannin content in the timber and its corrosive effect with mild steel.
With other species of solid section timber or with glulam, we also use galvanised or powder coated mild-steel. This also opens up options on finish and colour of steelwork, for bespoke design.
