Carpenter Oak is now an accredited Living Wage Employer. The Real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living. It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week. It is currently £9.90 in the UK, with a higher rate of £11.05 for London, reflecting the higher costs of living in the capital.

As a company, we already pay all of our employees and contractors in excess of the Real Living Wage (£9.90 per hour), but becoming accredited means that we are voluntarily going above and beyond the government minimum and that we are committed to ensuring that all of our employees can earn a wage which is enough to live on.

Our team is at the heart of everything we do – expert project managers, skilled carpenters, experienced designers and a dedicated office support team are key to maintaining our values and being able to consistently deliver the incredible projects we work on.

This commitment to a Real Living Wage for our employees shows our dedication to attracting and keeping the right people, allowing us to evolve and improve our culture, whilst protecting our core values.
