Carpenter Oak shortlisted for three awards!

The first award we were shortlisted for is the amazing project, Arden, in Loch Lomond.  Arden was been shortlisted for ‘Best Oak Framed Home’ at the Build It awards.  We can’t rave about Arden enough –  the highlight of the build is the huge expanse of direct glazing.  Three of the largest panels of the glass, at 8m2, were the largest spans we have ever worked with. Arden also features a vaulted living room with mezzanine, 10-metre cross frame span as well as a 10-metre wide balcony.  It is also the venue for our next Open House Event.

Also in the reckoning at the Build It Awards was a private home in Saltford, outside Bristol, submitted by Mallinson Architects.  A Carpenter Oak framed new build with a central enclosed courtyard and large open plan spaces.  Find out more about the project in our case study.

The third award we were shortlisted for is the contemporary project, Lakeland Farmhouse at the LABC Building Excellence Awards.  The home was in the running for Best Extension or Alteration to an existing Home and is a hybrid frame of oak with traditional pegged jointing alongside stainless steel bracing.  Lakeland won the 2018 Nothern Regional Award.
