The largest part of the project, the cafe, was a steel and masonry structure, topped with our oak frame. Starting with deep fill concrete foundations with a concrete beam and block floor, the build-up to the oak frame included steel formers for the oak posts to sit in.
Being in a flood risk area, special considerations had to be made for potential water levels, with everything at ground level raised accordingly.
Other details included carved pendants that added aesthetic touches to the one-piece tie-beam trusses.
