Alison and James spent many years searching for a plot to build their own oak framed home. During this time they came to talk to the Carpenter Oak team at various self-build shows and we were able to answer their questions, and help them to clearly define their vision for their new home.
They finally heard about a plot near our workshop in Devon which had incredible views of an estuary, with an old bungalow on it. The current owners had secured planning permission to replace the bungalow with a new house, but had decided not to go ahead with the build and sell the plot instead. Alison and James successfully purchased it and started to plan their dream home.
