The new oak framed build has improved the experience for guests by linking the shop and reception – enabling the Park to open the shop for more days and hours throughout the camping season, as well as allowing for the development of two new luxury self-catered apartments in addition to the touring pitches. They will be open all year-round, each with room for four people.
June 2018 saw the grand opening of the new building, with Derek Thomas MP and St Ives Mayor Suzanne Tanner in attendance, as well as three generations of the family behind the business and regular guests.
Carpenter Oak Cornwall, Symonds Construction, Hortus Design and Landscaping and Koha Architects were also there to see the cutting of the ribbon and celebrate with local food and drink.
‘Carpenter Oak Cornwall were a great fit alongside Symonds Construction, who we’d worked with previously. The project has enabled us to bring the the reception area up to the 5-star standard of the rest of the site. Many of our returning guests have been speechless when they see the new reception space for the first time, and I think that the oak frame and the oak beam lighting feature over the reception desk are a huge part of that ‘wow factor’, so we’re absolutely delighted with how the project has worked out.’
