Our client Sarah was eager to build her own dream home, having seen her friends Ian and Sue build their oak framed home Shepherds House with Carpenter Oak (completed in 2018).
She had a large plot attached to her then current house, so it made sense to build her new home there. Sarah’s architect first approached us in autumn 2021, but it took a while before planning permission was granted and we were on site to raise the frame in early summer 2023.
As well as wanting a structural oak frame, she was also future-proofing by going from an old house that was hard to maintain and keep warm, to a modern, warm, mostly single-level energy efficient home.
