Decades of experience informs the Carpenter Oak team's depth of understanding. We work with architects and structural engineers, surveying existing frames and proposing a sensitive program for restorative work. The work we produce is award-winning. Our conservation specialists are members of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB). They lead cutting edge training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in timber engineering and conservation techniques. As a team, we value our work with young people and communities, supporting them to understand and get practically involved in heritage projects that matter to them.
Read moreWe have worked on several buildings of historical importance, including Windsor castle after the 1992 fire and Stirling Castle. One of our early restoration projects includes working on Scott's and Shackleton's huts in the Antartic. Carpenter Oak respects time-honoured skills, enabling these to live on in the methods we perfect for restoration today. Our work contributes to cost certainty, reporting to funders, lenders and investors. Contact us to discuss your project
