BiographyIn 2010 I got made redundant from my job as a Signmaker in which I had been working for six years and decided I wanted to change my career path. Instead of working in a workshop, as I had been previously, I decided to do something more testing and so studied to become an accountant. The next three years of my life were testing as I had to work full-time in a factory to fund my courses and at the same time go to college to get my full AAT qualifications.
At the end of 2012 I managed to complete my courses and find a part-time job in an accounts practice. I managed to progress well and near the end of 2013 a chance came up to also work part-time as an accounts assistant at Carpenter Oak. This was a great opportunity for me to gain more knowledge and experience in accounts and finally get the jobs that I have studied hard for.
Since arriving at Carpenter Oak I have learnt a lot about many aspects of accounting in a small, individual company and I am enjoying working here with a very knowledgeable and friendly team.
