Self Build and Design magazine features a beautiful Carpenter Oak extension (now for sale!) in the picturesque village of Dittisham.

A fantastic story of a holiday dream come-true; James Hyde uses an oak extension to frame the incredible river views of his Devon cottage.

“Demolishing the newer extension to the rear and replacing this with an extensively glazed, two-storey oak-framed extension… would create an exceptionally bright space, containing a vaulted open-plan living/dining/kitchen on the first floor.

It was fantastic to see the oak frame in place, because I could instantly visualise the shape and size of the extension.”

– James Hyde in Self Build & Design Magazine

When asked what was the highlight of the project, James replied: “seeing the simplicity of construction of an oak-framed building and the dramatic effect it achieved”.

The house is now for sale with Marchand Petit, view the details here.
